"This summer I had the opportunity to attend the wonderful Birch Creek Summer Music Academy and wanted to thank you for assisting me so that I could have this once in a lifetime chance. With the money you graciously donated I was able to study under some of the greatest players in the entire world including members of the Maynard Ferguson Big Band, the Smithsonian Jazz Band, the Airmen of Note, and even including professors from Eastman, Indiana, DePauw, and Roosevelt. I was also able to play with some of the best high school musicians in the country.

My experience at Birch Creek was very rewarding, and I feel that I left as not only a better musician, but also as a more well rounded person. I hope you realize the effect your generosity has had on me. Thank you and I look forward to playing with you guys."
